We’re super inclusive at ShakaCode

about usJuly 18, 2016Dotby Justin Gordon

We’re super inclusive at ShakaCode. Since we’re 100% remote-first, we don’t even care what time zone you’re in, let alone your age, color, etc. However, you do have to love our open source and be able to converse about it. Besides that, you need good Internet, a good Macbook, a good attitude, and some serious drive and passion. By the way, we just went into “Preview” for our first big project, FriendsAndGuests.com.

I send this out to everybody that’s interested in our team. And the ones that excel at this become full time team members.

If you are interested in working with us, there’s a few things to do:

  1. Contribute to meaningful discussions at our slack room and forum http://forum.shakacode.com/.
  2. Contribute to the open source at https://github.com/shakacode. The best thing to do is to take some open issue and help out with it. I can give you guidance. That’s better than doing too much on your own at first. And let me know how we can make these better.

Closing Remark

Could your team use some help with topics like this and others covered by ShakaCode's blog and open source? We specialize in optimizing Rails applications, especially those with advanced JavaScript frontends, like React. We can also help you optimize your CI processes with lower costs and faster, more reliable tests. Scraping web data and lowering infrastructure costs are two other areas of specialization. Feel free to reach out to ShakaCode's CEO, Justin Gordon, at justin@shakacode.com or schedule an appointment to discuss how ShakaCode can help your project!
